DevFinder (devfinder.lu) is a production-grade, bilingual freelance marketplace tailored to the European market. The platform connects clients (Buyers) who need bespoke digital solutions with vetted web developers and agencies (Sellers). It automates the entire project lifecycle—from interactive cost scoping and proposal bidding to escrow-secured milestone payments, live chat, and delivery sign-offs.
Problem
Hiring specialized web developers is often fraught with friction:
- Opaque Pricing: Clients struggle to estimate realistic budgets before posting jobs.

1. Decoupled Two-Tier Stack

2. Dynamic Project Scoping & Matchmaking Engine
- Developed a 6-step wizard (

- Integrated Stripe Checkout and Stripe Connect Custom Accounts for split payments.
- Supports both single-payment orders and multi-milestone contracts: buyer funds are locked in escrow, platform commission fees are calculated automatically, and payouts are only released to the developer's wallet upon milestone approval.
- Built an internal wallet ledger allowing users to combine wallet credits with card payments.
4. Real-Time WebSockets via Laravel Reverb
- Deployed Laravel Reverb with Laravel Echo on the client for sub-100ms real-time messaging.
- Allowed developers to construct and transmit formal Custom Offers directly inside conversation threads.
